OVERCLIP vs Billo, for creators

How the two differ
These two sell different things. Billo is a marketplace for commissioned video: a brand buys a deliverable and the price is fixed before the camera is on. OVERCLIP is per-view: you post from your own account and the payout follows the views the post actually earns. Neither model is better in the abstract — they fail in different conditions, and which one suits you depends on whether your videos travel.

Eligibility
Billo is restricted by country: registration is open only to people physically located in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom or Australia, and you must be 18 or over. source
Payout timing
US, UK and Canada are paid through Stripe Connect, initiated within three days of brand approval with weekly automatic payouts; Australia is paid through PayPal twice a month. source
Where Billo is better
No platform wins on everything, and a comparison that says otherwise is an advert. These are the cases where we would send you there.
Money you can count on
The fee is agreed before you film. Nothing depends on whether the video travels, which is the single biggest variable in per-view work and the one you control least.
You never have to post it
The deliverable is footage. If you do not want brand content on your own feed — or you have no feed — that is a real advantage, and no per-view platform can offer it.
Automatic weekly payouts
In the US, UK and Canada the money is pushed to your bank rather than waiting for you to request a withdrawal.
Questions
Can I use both?
Yes, and plenty of people do. They fail in different conditions: fee work dries up when a brand's creative budget is spent, per-view work keeps running because it only costs the brand when it works.
Which one pays more?
Neither, reliably. Over a few months a creator whose videos travel earns more per hour on per-view work; one whose videos sit flat earns more on fees. We cannot answer it for you and anybody who does is guessing.
Does Billo take a commission?
Billo does not publish a percentage fee for creators, so we do not state one. Their terms do say creators bear transaction, currency conversion and payment processor charges.
Who owns the video?
On Billo it transfers to the brand — their terms use the words “irrevocably assign and transfer”. On OVERCLIP our Terms say you retain ownership of the content you create.
Can I work with Billo from outside the US?
Only from Canada, the UK or Australia. OVERCLIP has no country restriction on creating an account, though individual campaigns can be limited to markets.
