Faceless

Faceless UGC jobs: hands, voiceover and screen recordings

Quick answer. Plenty of briefs never ask for a face. Hands demonstrating a product, a voiceover over footage you shot, or a screen recording of an app are all accepted formats. You are paid per thousand verified views on your own account, the same as any other UGC.

What performs here

Hands and surface

The most portable faceless format. A clean surface, one light source and the product being used the way it is actually used.

Voiceover over b-roll

You narrate footage you filmed. Works for anything where the explanation matters more than the presenter.

Screen recording

The native format for apps and software. Record the flow, cut the waiting, and narrate what you are doing and why.

What a brief asks for

Briefs state whether a face is required. When one does not, it will usually still specify what must be visible — the product in frame, a particular screen, a result — and what cannot be claimed about it.

The platform's paid-partnership label applies whether or not you appear on camera. A faceless video is still a paid post.

What trips people up here

The rejections we see most often on this platform, and they are all avoidable before you post.

Hands in shadow

The single most common problem with hands-on footage. Put the light in front of the hands, not behind them.

Narration recorded over the clip

Record the voiceover separately and lay it under the footage. Talking while filming picks up the room and the handling noise.

A screen recording nobody can read

Zoom in on the part that matters. Full-screen captures on a phone are illegible in the feed.

How your views are verified

Faceless does not mean anonymous to us: the account you post from is still verified as yours before anything earns, through the platform's own sign-in or a one-time code in your profile. What the audience sees is your choice.

Nobody types a view count into this platform. Numbers come from the platform that served the video, and posts whose metrics do not behave like real reach are held out of payout with the reason attached.

Getting paid

Views build while the campaign runs. When it ends your video is reviewed against the brief, and the approved payout lands in your balance. The platform commission is zero, so nothing is taken out of the campaign budget on the way, and you can withdraw once your balance reaches $25.

Questions UGC creators ask

Do I need to show my face?

Not for briefs that do not ask for one, and many do not. Hands, a voice or a screen are complete formats, not a compromise.

Do I need to use my real voice?

A brief may require a human voiceover. Whether that voice is identifiable is a different question, and nothing requires you to be recognisable.

Does faceless content perform worse?

It performs differently. A face helps with trust-led content; hands and screens often win on demonstration, where the thing being shown is the point.

Can I use text-to-speech?

Only if the brief allows it. Some briefs rule out synthetic voices, and ignoring that is grounds for rejection.

Is my identity shown anywhere on OVERCLIP?

Your display name is an anonymous nickname by default and you can change it. Your email is never shown publicly.
