Per-view brand deals for US creators

Quick answer. You join campaigns that pay per thousand verified views rather than a flat fee, post from your own account, and the view count comes from the platform's API. Under the FTC's Endorsement Guides the disclosure duty is yours as well as the brand's, and using a platform's built-in tool does not move it.

Who is answerable in the United States

The FTC is explicit that the ultimate responsibility for disclosing a material connection rests with the influencer and the brand, not the platform. Turning on a paid-partnership toggle is sensible and is not a defence on its own — the FTC advises adding your own disclosure as well.

Wording that counts as a disclosure

«Ad», «Advertisement» and «Sponsored» are treated as adequate. «#sp», «#partner» and «Thanks [brand]» are specifically called out as things many consumers will not understand.

Where the label has to sit

The disclosure has to be unavoidable and sit with the endorsement itself. The FTC names three places where it is likely to be missed: an about/profile page, the end of a post or video, and anywhere behind a «more» link. For video it must be in the video, not only in the description. On a live stream, repeat it periodically so people who join late still see it.

This is on top of the platform’s own paid-partnership control, not instead of it — where that setting lives on each platform. What else applies in the United States

Two details of the 2023 revision matter for short video. The Guides now define «clear and conspicuous» formally — difficult to miss and easily understood by ordinary consumers — and for interactive media the disclosure is expected to be unavoidable, which is a higher bar than merely present. The other is that the FTC puts a duty on the brand too: marketers are expected to advise endorsers of their obligations and to monitor that the disclosures are actually made. If a brand never mentions disclosure to you, that is the brand failing its side, and it does not reduce yours.

Questions from the United States

Is the TikTok or Instagram branded-content toggle enough on its own?

The FTC's position is that the ultimate responsibility rests with the influencer and the brand rather than the platform, and it advises adding your own disclosure as well as using the platform tool. Use both.

Can I put the disclosure in the video description?

Not on its own. The FTC says a video disclosure should be in the video, not only in the description uploaded with it.

Does a free product count if I was not paid cash?

Yes. A material connection includes the gift of a free product, a business or family relationship, and anything else that might affect how much weight people give your endorsement.

Payouts and deadlines

Balances are in USD wherever you are, the commission is 0%, and withdrawals start at $25. Payouts go by crypto (USDT, BTC or ETH). Campaign dates are kept in UTC, so a deadline falls at the same instant everywhere — work out what that is in your own time instead of assuming it means local midnight.

Nothing here is restricted by country, on either side. We hold no audience geography at all, so no campaign is priced or targeted on it.
