What short-form video actually pays

Quick answer. Three different questions hide behind “how much does this pay”: what a clipper earns, what a UGC creator earns, and what a brand is paying for. They have different answers, and the guides below take them one at a time rather than averaging them into a figure that fits nobody.

Why there is no single number

Pay depends on which model you are in, how your videos actually perform, and what the campaign set as its rate — three variables that differ per person and per brief. Anybody quoting one monthly figure is either selling something or guessing. What can be said precisely is how each model works and which variables you control, which is what these guides do.

Start with the model, not the money

A flat fee is known before you film and capped; per-view pay is unknown and uncapped. Neither is better in the abstract — they fail in different conditions. Read the one that matches how you want to work before reading anything about amounts.

The brand's side is the same question

What a creator earns and what an advertiser pays are two ends of one number. The guide on CPM is written for brands, but it is the clearest explanation of what moves the rate a creator is offered, which is why it is in this group.
